Nowadays people rarely work in their dream professions. The studies they graduate from are connected with something completely different in most cases. There is no rule saying that if you study German philology you will have to be a teacher of German in primary or secondary school one day. You may study German and be a shop lifter afterwards! No one halts you (apart from the police...). That was of course a joke, but it is common that a mathematics student works as a lifeguard at a swimming pool a couple of years later. As I said, there is no order given from above to do what you are educated to do. Personally, I study finances and I would like to have something to do with this branch one day. I know it may be hard but I hope I will get lucky and get a job in this field when I grow up to that. There is just one single vacancy I would never like to take - the position of gold bullion dealer. Being a gold bullion dealer is the worst job imaginable for me. Going from place to place and selling or buying gold bullion is definitely nothing interesting for me. I prefer to deal with some papers and computer programs from behind the desk. Bullion selling and bullion buying is not my dream activity, I am totally serious here.
